XR Creation Apps

Are you interested in creating extended reality experiences for your project or class? Thankfully, there is a wide array of free and easy-to-use resources available for creating both AR and VR experiences. Assemblr EDU
AssemblrEDU helps you create a more accessible and exciting learning experience for your students using AR. The free Assemblr Studio and AssemblrEDU app let you quickly build interactive 3D lessons using pre-created 3D models, custom text and images, recorded music and audio, and YouTube videos. Your lessons are then linked to printable QR codes that your students can scan and experience using the AssemblrEDU app.
Metaverse
Metaverse allows you to create interactive lessons in AR in the form of multi-scene storyboards (like pages of a book). You can build these scenes to include pre-created or custom 3D objects, text, sounds, videos, and 360 degree images. Interactions like clickable buttons, quizzes, file uploads, etc. allow your students to move through the scenes based on their responses. Metaverse experiences are easy to create and view using the free Metaverse app.
CoSpaces EDU
With CoSpaces EDU you and your students can quickly create completely virtual worlds from scratch. The CoSpaces EDU app allows you to build virtual scenes using 3D models, text, images, audio, and videos. Your students can then move around, and interact with, these scenes using the free CoSpaces EDU app.
JigSpace
JigSpace makes it easy to create and share interactive, 3D presentations, demos, or training lessons with your students. With JigSpace you start from a selection of pre-created 3D models (you can also create your own but that is a lot of work) that you can then turn into interactive activities using text and animations. JigSpace is the most complex of these apps to use, but is great for complex applications. The JigSpace app is only available for use with Apple iOS products.

AssemblrEDU

Metaverse

Type of XR: Augmented Reality/Mixed Reality
How can I access it: Free; requires Metaverse account
What is it: Storyboards of connected scenes
- Scenes can include 3D characters, dialogue, sounds, audio, buttons, webpages, YouTube videos, quizzes polls, and more
- Scenes are connected via buttons & logic
View in: AR using the Metaverse App (free)
Ideal for: Interactive activities, educational games, quizzes, knowledge-based escape rooms, lessons related to any subject

CoSpaces

Type of XR: Virtual Reality
How can I access it: Free basic account
What is it: Virtual spaces filled with content
- Spaces can include 3D models, images, videos, audio
- Scenes can be navigated
View in: VR using the CoSpaces App (free)
Ideal for: Creative spaces for storytelling, virtual lessons in any subject
