Be sure to read the position description and application instructions thoroughly, and follow all instructions. The two most important things you can do toward getting an interview are submitting clear availability for the times we ask for and submitting an original cover letter that follows instructions and answers the questions we ask, making sure to address the specific job you're applying for.
Think of it as a pre-interview--show us that you're a great candidate for this job! Hint: if you give us the same cover letter you turn in for every job or something you found online, that's probably not what we're looking for.

Cline to Career
At Cline Library, we're dedicated to helping our student employees prepare for their careers beyond NAU. We work with NAU Career Development to ensure our student jobs and training are focused on enhancing your skills in the National Association of Colleges and Employers Career Readiness Competencies. Each level 2 User Experience Assistant will work toward one of our level 3 student jobs based on availability and the student's interests. We look forward to providing an enriching working and learning experience beyond "just a job" to help you graduate with the skills you need.
While the Cline Library encourages applications from Federal Work Study (FWS) eligible students, we hire student wage positions as well. Please feel free to apply regardless of your eligibility for FWS.
FWS is a federally funded employment program available to undergraduate and graduate students who exhibit financial need as calculated from their FAFSA information. The FWS program helps students meet their educational expenses through part-time employment.
For more information, please visit The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid: Federal Work Study and Student Employment.
Cline Library loves international students!
International students are encouraged to apply for library student jobs for which they are qualified. Please be aware that some of the positions require a strong proficiency in reading and speaking English, and some also require applicants to be available for more than one semester.
International students are limited to working 20 hours per week.
For more information, please see the Center for International Education job information for F-1 Students and for J-1 Students.
If you have any questions about a job for which you'd like to apply, please use the Ask Us button on this page.
When you are hired to work any job, you must provide identification to serve as your proof of eligibility to work in the United States. For most people, that requirement is fulfilled by one of the following two options:
For more information about this requirement and to check for alternative identification options, visit U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services I-9 Acceptable Documents.
You will be required to provide identification to meet these requirements upon being hired for any job (on campus or off campus), so it is a good idea to make sure that you have them in your possession in advance if you are applying for work.
If you are an international student who does not have a Social Security Number yet, no worries: we'll work with you to get the work authorization you need if you're offered a job here.
