Formulating your research question

Before you can start searching, you need to know what to search!  So, you need to create a research question.  What do you want to learn? Scholarly Resources will help you support the research question. Some potential topics for your consideration may include:

  • Communication Disorders
  • Expressive language or voice disorders
  • Phonology or Speech Disorders
  • Receptive language or Cognition
  • Swallowing or Deglutition Disorders

Or more specific categories like:

  • Aphasia
  • Dysarthria or articulation
  • Dysphasia
  • Stuttering

Once you have your topic, you may now brainstorm about keywords to develop your research question.  What are the terms you wish to search?
