How do I...?

Request an item Cline Library doesn't have

To ensure full access to materials and request options, log in to your NAU Library account before using Library Search.

Scenario 1: We have the item

  1. Search for your desired item (book, article, etc.) in the Quick Search.
  2. You found it! You're done.

Scenario 2: We do not have the item.

TIP: one of the best ways to request items is through NAU’s Quick Search bar.

  1. Search for your desired item (book, article, etc) in the Quick Search.
  2. If you can’t find it in our collection, you’ll see an option to “expand your search” to include items outside of our library.

  3. Locate the item in the expanded search and click the title to open the record.
  4. To request, select "Get It" under Get it from other locations. For books, you can choose a full physical copy or a digital chapter.

Scenario 3: We do not have the item and it is not showing up after expanding results.

1. After searching in the Quick Search and expanding your results, select "Still didn't find what you need? Click here to send a request" to open a blank request form.

2. Fill out the form completely with all relevant information, including author, volume, issue, year, and pages.
