PSY 101 - Information Literacy Guide

Follow the 11 steps below to search for, select, and email articles to yourself.

1. From the library website, click on the words Find Databases

2. On the next page, click on the letter P

3. Select either PsycARTICLES, PsycINFO, or PubMed (Medline) - you only need to select one

4. You are now on a different search screen. Click on Choose Databases to get a pop-up window of more resources

5. Check the box next to the additional databases to search and click OK.

6. Use the search boxes to type in your keywords. Be sure to check the box next to Apply related words

7. Refine the results by limiting to Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals and consider changing the date.

8. Look at the results. If any are relevant, click on the folder to the right.

9. This action puts the articles in a temporary folder. Click on Folder View.

10. From the Folder, select all the resources and email them to yourself or export them to a citation manager (e.g. Zotero or Mendeley).

11. Before you send the email, change the citation format to APA 7th edition.
