A Conversation with Nathan Arrowsmith and Stevie Tran

 Introduction 

In this lesson, we will hear from Arizona attorneys Mr. Nathan Arrowsmith and Ms. Stevie Tran, who have experience working with and advocating for LGBTQIA+ clients. Nathan and Stevie will break down the legal matters facing gender diverse athletes and the implications therein.

Meet the speakers

A picture of Nathan Arrowsmith

Nathan Arrowsmith is a partner at the Phoenix law firm of Tran Arrowsmith.  He is a graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Prior to founding TA, Nathan worked as an associate at the Phoenix law firm of Osborn Maledon, P.A.  Nathan has varied litigation and appellate experience, including partnership disputes, election law, and constitutional claims.  Nathan has also advised employers, educational institutions, and fraternal organizations about legal issues related to the LGBT community.

 

A picture of Stevie Tran

Stevie Tran is a partner at the Phoenix law firm of Tran Arrowsmith. She is a graduate of the Maurice A. Dean College of Law at Hofstra University. Prior to founding TA, Stevie litigated full time in family court handling matters involving various aspects of family law, including custody/guardianship, dependency, adoptions, and the child welfare system. Stevie is a nationally recognized speaker and author who has advised numerous institutions and organizations in addressing transgender inclusion and developing policies on diversity and non-discrimination. Stevie authored one of the first articles on transgender inclusion within fraternal organizations and continues to educate and advise on this matter.
