Students will be able to:

  • Recognize a scholarly source, and be able to differentiate between a peer-reviewed and a non peer-reviewed article. 
  • Articulate the peer-review process, and describe why it is important for scholarly research. 
  • Locate a scholarly article using the library's resources, Quick Search or SocINDEX with Full Text.

  • Recognize and describe how new information is generated and vetted, as well as how and why it is communicated to others through different types of sources.
  • Effectively find, evaluate, and use information sources.
