Creating at Cline

The Northern Arizona University Cline Library has a wide array of resources for NAU and CCC students, staff, and faculty to use when creating their academic or personal projects. From specially designed spaces (the MakerLab and Studios), to multimedia and maker lending equipment, to a variety of services and project consultations - we are here to help! Our "Creating at Cline Library" guide is filled with information and tutorials on a variety of topics that are designed to help you make the most of our equipment and software resources.

Creation Spaces

The Cline Library offers a number of spaces that help the NAU community learn, design, create, and share their academic and personal projects. The MakerLab provides tools, equipment, and services for the creation of 3D models, microelectronics, and other maker activities. The Studios include a computing lab with high-end iMac and Dell Precision PCs that are loaded with advanced engineering and multimedia production software, as well as a set of seven creation studios that support photography, graphic design, audio and video production, and the development of extended reality experiences. You can also visit the library's Ask Us! desk to checkout multimedia and maker equipment for your next project!

    

Recording Equipment

The Cline Library has a number of audio and visual recording devices available for students to check out. This equipment can record high definition videos with enhanced audio clarity in order to help you produce a professional-level video project. All library equipment can be checked out from the Ask Us desk for a period of three days. Reserving a Studio

NAU & CCC students, faculty, and staff may reserve a studio online for up to two hours a day, up to two weeks in advance. To reserve a Studio at Cline Library:
 
  1. Visit https://nau.libcal.com/reserve/studios to view our list of available studios.
  2. Click the blue "Info" icon next to each studio for more details about that room.
  3. Select an available blue time slot (up to two hours per day) for your studio of choice.
  4. Once your selected time slot turns yellow to represent your booking, click "Submit Times."
  5. Log in using your NAU username and password to confirm your booking details. Then click "Continue."
  6. Fill out the contact info screen and complete your reservation by clicking "Submit my Booking."
  7. Once it is time for your reservation, visit the library’s Ask Us! Desk with your NAU ID to check out the key to the studio.
  8. The Studios are located on the first floor of the Cline Library next to the Student Technology Center.
