Industry Organizations

American Concrete Institute
Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, MI, USA, the American Concrete Institute is advancing concrete knowledge by conducting seminars, managing certification programs, and publishing technical documents. The American Concrete Institute currently has 98 chapters and 20,000 members spanning 108 countries.

American Institute of Constructors
AIC is an organization established to help individual construction practitioners achieve the professional status they deserve. The Institute is the constructor's counterpart of professional organizations found in architecture, engineering, law and other fields. As such, the Institute serves as the national qualifying body of professional constructor. AIC membership identifies the individual as a true professional.

American Institute of Architects
The AIA, the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857, serves as the voice of the architecture profession and the resource for our members in service to society.

American Institute of Steel Construction, Inc.
The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), headquartered in Chicago, is a not-for-profit technical institute and trade association established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry in the United States. AISC’s mission is to make structural steel the material of choice by being the leader in structural-steel-related technical and market-building activities, including: specification and code development, research, education, technical assistance, quality certification, standardization, and market development. AISC has a long tradition of service to the steel construction industry providing timely and reliable information.

American Society of Civil Engineers
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a professional body founded in 1852 to represent members of the civil engineeringprofession worldwide. It is the oldest national engineering society in the United States.

American Builders and Contractors
Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association representing 25,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms in 79 chapters across the United States. ABC's membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry.

American Subcontractors Association
The American Subcontractors Association Inc., is an IRS section 501(c)(6) non-profit, national, membership trade association of 5,500 subcontractors, specialty trade contractors and suppliers in the construction industry.

Associated General Contractors of America
The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is the largest and oldest national construction trade association in the United States. Operating in partnership with its nationwide network of Chapters, AGC provides a full range of services satisfying the needs and concerns of its members, thereby improving the quality of construction and protecting the public interest.

Associated Schools of Construction
The Associated Schools of Construction is the professional association for the development and advancement of construction education, where the sharing of ideas and knowledge inspires, guides and promotes excellence in curricula, teaching, research and service.

Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering
Since 1956, AACE International has been the leading-edge professional society for cost estimators, cost engineers, schedulers project managers, and project control specialists. With more than 7,000 members worldwide, AACE International is the largest organization serving the entire spectrum of cost management professionals. AACE International is industry independent, and has members in 78 countries and 71 local sections.

Construction Financial Management Association
The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) is "the Source & Resource for Construction Financial Professionals" and the only nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the construction financial professional.  Established in 1981, CFMA’s General Members represent all types of contractors – including generals and subs – as well as developers, construction managers, architects, engineers, principals, and material and equipment suppliers.  Associate Members include the accounting, insurance, surety, software, legal, and banking specialists who serve the construction industry.

Construction Industry Institute
CII is a consortium of leading owners, engineering and construction contractors, and suppliers who have a singular mission: to improve the cost effectiveness of the capital facility project life cycle, from pre-project planning through completion and commissioning. By collaborating on important industry issues and by providing guidance on best practices discovered through research, the CII members are collectively an industry forum for the engineer-procure-construct process.

Construction Management Association of America
CMAA is leading the growth and acceptance of construction management as a professional discipline that can add significant value to the entire construction process, from conception to ongoing operation.  Membership in CMAA includes more than 4,000 firms and individuals. Owners, engineers, architects, contractors, educators, students...everyone with a stake in the construction industry's success.

Design-Build Institute of America
The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) is an association of leaders in the design and construction industry utilizing design-build and integrated project delivery methods to achieve high performance projects.

National Society of Professional Engineers
The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) is the national society of engineering professionals from all disciplines that promotes the ethical and competent practice of engineering, promotes licensure, and enhances the image and well-being of its members.  The NSPE serves over 54,000 members and the public through 53 state and territorial societies and over 500 chapters.

U.S. Green Building Council
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization committed to expanding sustainable building practices. USGBC is composed of more than 15,000 organizations from across the building industry that are working to advance structures that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. Members includes building owners and end-users, real estate developers, facility managers, architects, designers, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, product and building system manufacturers, government agencies, and nonprofits.
